Anesthesia and Pain Management

The doctors and staff at MACC use the latest in multi-modal pain control and anesthetic monitoring equipment. Multi-modal pain control uses a combination of local anesthesia and general anesthesia. This allows us to maximize anesthetic safety while minimizing pain and anxiety.

Our doctors take into account unique breed differences as well as the health and age of your pet to design a custom anesthetic protocol for each pet. Your pet will be monitored by one of our licensed veterinary technicians using state of the art equipment while under anesthesia. Parameters monitored include:

  • Capnography
  • Blood pressure
  • Internal body temperature
  • Electrocardiography
  • Fluid and electrolyte monitoring
  • Oxygen saturation of blood

This allows the doctor to focus on surgery while a technician focuses on your pet’s anesthesia.
